In 2017, Irene and Veronica began to come together every Sunday for an outdoor adventure. Their mission was simple: to empower women to get outside and explore. Through their efforts, they established an amazing bond and a passion for hiking. As they progressed, they wanted to share their love of the outdoors and building relationships with others. They achieved this mission by organizing weekly hikes around the state of Arizona. Thus, Girl, Take a Hike was formed!
Initially, Girl, Take a Hike was set up as a Facebook group, through which Irene and Veronica organized weekly Sunday hikes, inviting female friends and family members. With each passing week, the invitations increased. The number of trails that they explored increased. And their knowledge of the outdoor/hiking life increased as well. Fast forward to today, when the Girl, Take a Hike (Arizona) Facebook page has over 3,000 members, and that number continues to grow.
